Cous lomatium (Lomatium cous)
Perennial, 4-18", blooms early spring; taproot
Leaves:   Pinnately divided leaves (3 times), overall triangular shape, grayish green in color
Flowers: It typically has clusters of yellow flowers, umbel form, blooms in early spring (April on this trip).
Habitat:   It grows on rocky areas.
Food:    The starchy taproot is small, but edible.
